sets premiere date

NEWS January 29: MONSTER ISLAND sets premiere date Director Jack Perez has informed Fango that his old-fashioned creature feature MONSTER ISLAND is set to premiere on MTV Sunday, March 7 at 7 p.m. In the movie, which we previously reported on here and here, Carmen Electra (pictured) plays herself, and gets captured on the titular locale, where a group of young people have to fight off giant insects and other beasts to rescue her. In the great old-fashioned tradition, the monsters were created via full-sized props and stop-motion animation (by David Bowes Productions); the human co-stars include Adam West (as Dr. Harryhausen!), former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter (soon to star in Tobe Hooper?s BREW), Daniel (CAMP) Letterle, Cascy (SCOOBY-DOO 2) Beddow, Mary Elizabeth (WOLF LAKE) Winstead and C. Ernst (13 GHOSTS) Harth. Perez, who scripted with Adam Glass, tells Fango that the movie will air in letterbox format with only one commercial interruption, and repeat several times thereafter; MONSTER ISLAND has also been picked up for video distribution by DEJ, with a tentative street date of October 19.

* About The Hollow

Nick's movie was just mentioned on the View Kaley Cuoco was on the View this morning and they asked her about her new movie that she filmed with "Backstreet Boy" Nick Carter. She didn't say when it was coming out or anything, just that it was a horror movie and that it was all night shoots that they filmed and how she had to scream a lot, LOL! And that she got to work with Nick on it. I just thought that it was pretty cool to atleast start hearing people talk about it.

* BRAND NEW!
After the Carter family had no luck getting network back up for a reality series starring their family, Nick Carter abanadoned the idea and took business tips from his girlfriend,
the amazinlgy underweight Hilton heiress, Paris Hilton. Carter has signed with ABC to star on his own version of "The Simple Life". Filming is under way and publicity shots are now being released. Carter has put off all other recording, including the recording Backstreet Boys were starting on, and has now been living on a farm doing day to day chores. WHAT writes
"On January 18th, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean phoned into Joey Fatone's radio show based in Orlando. Joey asked what's up with the Backstreet Boys because he just heard from Howie Dorough that the group was recording again. He told AJ that he and Howie were supposed to arm wrestle and asked who'd win. AJ said Joey would definately beat Howie.

Joey and AJ hung out together on AJ's birthday at a porn convention. They talked about some of the freaks they saw there, including a pregnant stripper and a woman with humongous breasts. Joey asked again when BSB was hittin' the studio because *NSYNC wanted to beat them to the punch. AJ said January 26th. Joey's response: "Darn it." AJ said they're going in with an open mind and are just gonna write hit songs.

Joey asked AJ what song he'd like to hear on the air. AJ's response: 'Smack My Bitch Up' by Prodigy, clarifying that he doesn't actually smack bitches up; he just likes the song. Then after AJ hung up, Joey and the other DJ argued about who was better, the Backstreet Boys or *NSYNC. Joey said *NSYNC. The other DJ said the Backstreet Boys because he likes their songs and prefers 'I Want It That Way' over 'Bye Bye Bye' and 'Backstreet's Back' over 'It's Gonna Be Me.' Stuff magazine spoke with Jill Wagner of 'Punk'd' and asked her what Tommy Lee was doing hanging out with Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter. "That was my first question," she said. "When Nick Carter rolled up, I was like, what is he doing here? Andy they were like, 'Well, he's punking Tommy Lee.' I think they're working together. But that is the weirdest couple I've ever seen."

Asked if Lee arrived drunk, she responded, "I don't know if he was drunk. I never got that close to him. I don't think you ever know if he's drunk or not. He's a rock star. He can do whatever the hell he wants to."
