Miley Cyrus’ new song, “Party in the USA” leaked onto the internet today. The song will supposedly appear on an upcoming album to promote Miley’s new Walmart clothing line. However, you can listen to it now on via the gloriousness that is YouTube. See the embedded video below to check it out.
Avril Lavigne is currently working on her still-unnamed fourth album, and she tells Billboard.com that it will be very different from her previous music. The record will feature a mainly acoustic, stripped-down tone, shying away from the party-girl anthems and princess-punk themes of her previous albums. The new music will focus on “[making] it all about the vocal and the performance, and the vibe, and the emotion.” Avril adds that she is planning a smaller theater tour to match the sentiment of the album, saying, “I just wanna have silence around me, and have these acoustic songs and really deliver.” If she can pull off this sound, it should be a welcome change from the bubble gum punk she has become famous for. After all, her once-thirteen year old fans are now twenty, and surely craving something different. Her album is set to drop on November 17.
Speaking of music pre-teens tend to enjoy, The Backstreet Boys (sans Kevin Richardson) will be releasing their seventh album on October 6. This should be interesting. The first single, “Straight Through My Heart” can be streamed for free on their Myspace site.
